Rotary Club of Plainfield: Who Are We?


The Rotary Club of Plainfield (Indiana) is one of over 34,000 Rotary International Clubs around the the World.  Four business leaders and professionals, who recognized their companies as an opportunity to provide service in their community, united to form Rotary in 1905.  Little did they realize that this grand concept would become the largest service organization in the world.  Dedicated to Peace and Goodwill, Rotary has remained committed to Humanitarian Projects, leading the way in the End Polio Campaign, with eradication now less than 1%,  Clean Water, Hunger, Maternal and Infant Health Services, Literacy and Youth.   The Plainfield Club was chartered in 1954 and has been active in the Plainfield and Hendricks County Communities since its inception. We are a small club with a huge commitment and are constantly active in serving our community and uniting in world service. Our SERVICE ABOVE SELF includes six primary categories:

  • Youth: PHS Interact (Rotary’s Youth Leadership and Service Club); Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA); PHS Straight A Salute, College Scholarships
  • Education and Literacy: Teacher of the Year; Little Free Libraries (4); Administrator’s Lunch
  • Hunger and Homeless: PUMC Feed the Hungry and Homeless; Clothe the Homeless
  • Charitable Organizations: Susie’s Place Child Advocacy Center; The Gathering Together
  • International: Polio Eradication; Quadrat School (Afghanistan); Ebola Campaign; Beirut (Middle East) Wheelchair Campaign
  • Community Appreciation: 1st Responders Bicentennial Event; PCSC Administrators Appreciation Lunch
