Rotary International District 6860 Newsletter December 2022

Seasons greetings to Rotary and Rotaract members throughout District 6860!  This is the time of year for fun and fellowship.  Clubs are planning parties, participating in fund-raising events to support local charities and focusing on spending time with family and friends.  Thank you for providing food and clothing for needy families, for distributing toys to children, for bell ringing in support of Salvation Army, and for the many other generous acts of kindness that are helping those in need.

As you know, this time of year is not always joyous for everyone.  Remember to reach out to club members who may have lost a loved one, or who may be struggling physically or emotionally.  A kind word, a simple gesture of caring and kindness can go a long way to help people get through a very difficult time of year.  Let’s all make sure that we all take care of our members, as well as those in need in our community.

I wish you all joy and peace!

District Multi-Year Planning

Twenty-five members of Rotary and Birmingham Rotaract met on Saturday, December 9 in Gardendale to participate in a Multi-Year planning process led by Rotary International Director Elizabeth Usovicz. The process resulted in a framework to be implemented over the next two and a half to three years for the district to support Rotary and Rotaract clubs in our district.  Participants included current club presidents, past presidents, Assistant Governors, Past District Governors, district leaders and the current DG line. Details of the plan will be shared in upcoming newsletters and at the district conference.
