The Rotary Club of Joplin Daybreak celebrated its 30th Anniversary Friday, March 12 at 6:45 AM at Granny Shaffer’s Continental Banquet Center on North Range Line Road.
On March 11, 1991, The Club was admitted into membership in Rotary International with 26 local members. The Club has grown to 54 members and still meets every Friday morning at 6:45 AM. The Club has helped launch and support many local organizations like the Ronald McDonald Charities of the Four States, the Wildcat Glades trails, the Miracle League of Joplin, the school gardens that originated at West Central Elementary School, and most recently, the Rotary Sculpture Garden. The Club has also participated in International projects that include wheelchairs, medical supplies, and solar lights to African villages.
Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. For more than 110 years, Rotary's people of action have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects. From literacy and peace to water and health, we are always working to better our world, and we stay committed to the end.
