Loganville Rotary is making a difference

Last week we handed a check to Special Kneads and Treats for $12,830 which was
½ of the net revenue from our golf tournament fundraiser.

Special Kneads puts handicapped people to work making cakes and pastries that often are also given
away free to those less fortunate. By teaching job skills and employing special
needs people, they are changing the lives of both these special people and their
families. It feels good to work, to earn income, and to make a difference and they
are employing people that often can’t get a job elsewhere. Many of their
employees have even “graduated” to work in other companies and now many
larger organizations are looking at what they are doing and trying to learn from the
Special Kneads and Treats model. The check we gave represents over 1700 hours
of employment for special needs individuals. Loganville Rotary is making a
difference in Gwinnett county and beyond by teaming with great ministries and
charities and bringing the wealth of knowledge, resources and manpower to local
needs.
