A Lobster On Every Plate: Global Scholar Dinner Evening

Kudos to all who came to our lobster dinner for our Global Scholar, Dr. Agrimi, and his fiancée, Antonella, on Friday July 26, 2019.  A good time was had by all, except perhaps the poor lobsters, but they too had a rattling good time while it lasted.

Thanks to Phyllis for her wonderful cheesecake and to Reggie (and Kirk) for their blueberry pie (Kirk “baked it”) and ice cream.  In addition, we had Gina's salad, Chinese peanut butter noodles, fresh corn on the cob, fresh squash pickles out of the back yard and Wan-Cheng’s famous 1-2-3-4-5 ribs.  And of course the aforementioned lobsters and also, of course, ample quantities of wine.

I think it is striking that both our Japanese family, the Kugas, and our Italian couple, Jacopo and Antonella, have developed a great love of the United States based mainly on the openness and friendliness of the American people they have met.

All in all, it was a rare moment of perfection, a happy blend of good food, good company of diverse backgrounds and origins and good conversation, with a lobster on every plate (Hey, that has a ring to it – maybe a campaign slogan?).  Anyway, here’s hoping more members can attend future events.
