May 7: Rob Jasper, National Speaker on the Growth of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Rob Jasper is a distinguished manager at PNNL's National Security Directorate and a chief scientist for the Analysis in Motion initiative. His career includes pivotal roles at PayScale, Intelligent Results, and First Data, focusing on data sciences and technology development.

Jasper also contributed as a technology officer and educator, influencing big data and software engineering fields. His leadership extends to advising academic programs, reflecting his commitment to advancing technology and education.




May 21: Dawn Boyd, Executive Director of the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show

Dawn Boyd joined the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show as the Executive Director on January 7, 2019. She replaced Jeanette Pilak, who retired at the end of December 2018.

Boyd brought a passion for event coordination and a love for quilting to the role, with over 20 years of experience in coordinating various events before joining the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show.

Her role involves managing an event that features 1,200 quilts from around the world and attracts more than 10,000 visitors. For more details, you can visit the article on The Nugget Newspaper's website.


June 4: Zak Boone, COCC Chief Advancement Officer, on Public Civility and Discourse

Zak Boone is the Chief Advancement Officer at Central Oregon Community College (COCC) and Executive Director of the COCC Foundation. Zak received his Masters of Public Administration with a focus in nonprofit management from Portland State University, and Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from Lewis & Clark College.

Zak has worked in respected charities in Central Oregon since 2007, including serving as executive director for the Bend Ronald McDonald House from 2007-2011, and as associate director of the Deschutes Land Trust from 2011-2015. He is also actively involved in the Rotary Club of Bend/Mt. Bachelor and served as Club President for 2018-19. Zak currently serves on the boards of City Club of Central Oregon, and the Bend Chamber as an ex-officio member representing higher education.

Zak’s areas of professional expertise include major gift fundraising, community engagement, board governance, grants management, planned giving, event coordination, policy development, storytelling and nonprofit branding.


June 18: Matt Hilgers, Sisters High School Director of Athletics

Matt Hilgers is the athletic director at Sisters High School. An experienced educator and former three-sport athlete, he brings a passion for sports and a commitment to community engagement.

Hilgers, who moved to Sisters in 2021, has previously coached the varsity baseball team. His vision for the athletic department emphasizes student participation and fostering a strong sports culture within the school.




August 6: Andrew Untermeyer, Senior Media Consultant, Central Oregon Daily
 
Began my career in Broadcasting in 1986 at KUIK Radio in Hillsboro Oregon
Moved to Central Oregon Resident in 1989 to manage the sales department for KSJJ KPRB Radio in Redmond
Helped launch the FOX tv station in Bend in 1996
Joined Central Oregon Daily in 2017.
Married  for 34 years to Margie with 2 adult children AJ and Marlee
What I love most about my job is that my career is all about News, Sports, Politics and Culture from the sidelines.
