Field Dedication and Opening Ceremonies to Take Place at Will Norton Miracle Field


Rotary Clubs of Joplin and the Miracle League of Joplin Board of Directors invite the community to attend the Miracle Field Dedication & Opening Ceremonies at 5:00 PM on Friday, April 26th at the Will Norton Miracle Field, located in the Joplin Athletic Complex at 3301 W. 1st Street. 


The Field Dedication will include a dedication ceremony with remarks by Jenny Hocker, Chairperson of the Rotary Building Committee and Mark Norton, along with recognition of the new Board of Directors, donors and a ribbon cutting.  Following the Field Dedication, the Miracle League of Joplin will hold Opening Ceremonies, introducing the teams and coaches and allowing the players to take a turn at bat. 

 

In addition to the Dedication and Opening Ceremonies, there will be kids’ activities including photos with Homer, the Miracle League mascot, and face painting.  A BBQ dinner will be provided by Rib Crib.

 

“We are so excited to kick off our inaugural season,” stated Cameo Harrington, public relations chair for the Miracle League of Joplin. “There is so much heart and soul that has gone into building this field and we can’t wait to get the kids out there to play ball!”

 

In the case of inclement weather, the Field Dedication will take place on Saturday, April 27th at 11:15 AM, following the League’s first games. 

 

The Miracle League season will begin on Saturday, April 27th and will continue for the next six weeks. Every Saturday games will be held at 9:00 AM and 10:15 AM at the Will Norton Miracle Field, located in the Joplin Athletic Complex.  There is no charge to attend the games and the community is encouraged to come out and cheer on all of the Miracle League players.
