Request for Proposals for Youth Opportunity Grants

The Rotary Club of Spartanburg is a group of business professionals seeking to support our community through Youth Opportunity Grants. Grants are provided in amounts ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 to selected local agencies whose programs will provide a significant, positive, long-term impact on the lives of Spartanburg’s socially and economically vulnerable youth. Specifically, we desire to support programs directed towards the improvement of physical, mental, or emotional health conditions or the improvement of economic stability and mobility outcomes through educational opportunities. Preference will be given to agencies who have a demonstrated history of working with other local agencies to maximize the impact of investments.

We are soliciting requests for proposals from sustainable non-profits with 501(c)(3) status, or a fiscal agent with qualifying status, who have served Spartanburg for at least three years. Proposals are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024, and must be submitted electronically to [email protected].
 
Your submission must contain a completed copy of the proposal form (found here: https://www.dacdb.com/Rotary/Accounts/7750/Downloads/6215/RFP. 2024 (1).pdf), a roster of your organization’s Board of Directors, and a copy of the budget for the program identified in your proposal. The submission should be made as a single pdf document containing all three components. We intend to award grants between $5,000 and $10,000 to 4-7 organizations. Please structure your requests accordingly. Incomplete submittals, or those outside of these guidelines, will not be considered.

We will notify successful applicants by April 19, 2024, and will hold a public awards presentation at a subsequent club meeting to be scheduled. We ask that a representative from each receiving organization attend this meeting for recognition. In addition, each receiving organization will be asked to respond to a questionnaire regarding the application and impact of the grant funds and provide photographs that may be included in press releases.
