Rotary President Wrap UP

Between June and July the rotary clubs around the world transition their president and officers. This process helps the clubs to maintain the energy and impact of new ideas every year. As a result, we can achieve more for the community.

Recently we asked the outgoing president, Ron Drag to reflect on his year. Here is what he shared. We are very grateful for his leadership and energy for the club, the members, and the community.

Being a Rotary President provides the opportunity to work with Community leaders to address opportunities that impact people's lives. During my term as President, the club emerged and re-established its footing coming out of COVID to position itself to impact the Community in many ways. Women's services, homelessness, and education were the three main areas our club addressed during the last year. As a result we were able to donate over $80,000 in needed support to 6 main support groups, along with numerous smaller projects where we applied our time and skills to help those in need. "Service above self" is our motto, and we definitely put that on display in achieving a Rotary "Gold Club Award" for excellence. That is only achievable by working as a team to support our Communities' needs at a high level.

As we point to the future, our foundation is set to grow our impact. In fall, we will build our first Habitat for Humanity House in Loganville. We are also working with Rotary Clubs in Columbia, South America and in Kenya to help improve educational opportunities for the children in those areas where educational opportunities exist. We look forward to continuing our efforts to make our Communities better in helping those who are in need.

From a personal standpoint, being in the Loganville Rotary gives me the opportunity to give back in a meaningful way by working with professionals that bring their skills together to create uncommon results through ideas and action. It is a great opportunity for anyone who would like to see our Community flourish. My year as President has been an honor to work with the can-do spirit of the Loganville Rotary Club.
