Club visit by District Governor, Sharalyn Davis

At Friday's meeting,  we welcomed our District Governor, Sharalyn Davis, and Jim Maier, Assistant District Governor, who brought us news on Rotary International President Gordon McInally's theme: Create Hope in the World, a theme so appropriate to what we do here in Harbor Country.
She spoke of the many programs that Rotary Club are doing, from district level to international. One such program is Rotarians donated $50,000 to get a dam built in Northern India in a area that has huge issues with floods and draught. The creation of this dam helped to mitigate these issues and vastly improve the lives of the people in the area. Our donations to the Rotary Foundation go a long way (effect and distance) to making life better, for the receiver and the donors too. Sharalyn talked about altruism, love in action, Rotary in action.
Sharalyn also presented Rotary's Action Plan: Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change—across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
