This week's meeting!

In-person meeting with District Governor Tari Marshall-Day.???????

This week we will be in-person again at the Graduate Club 155 Elm Street, New Haven for lunch at 12:15 PM with a visit from our 2022-2023 District Governor, Tari Marshall-Day. Tari was born in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, the daughter of Dr C.D. and Bette Marshall-Day. Prior to his retirement, Dr. Marshall-Day was Foreign Service New Zealand-British Medical Envoy and personal physician to the last three Viceroy's of India and Dean of Punjab University. After partition, he ended his career at Tuffs University as Dean. Tari was born to her father's post-career, on the road lecturing around the world and always on the move. With over 60 countries visited, she has a passion for everything international and claims to be a Global Citizen in a border-less world.
Tari moved to the US in 1988, completing her undergraduate work in New Jersey and her graduate work in Newport, Rhode Island at Salve Regina University and as a civilian at the Naval War College studying International Relations and Strategic Studies. Her work has been in the hospitality industry, working for a series of major hotel brands and boutique hotels, and now is a task force consultant in the hotel and travel industry.
Tari is a member of the Cheshire Rotary Club, a multiple Paul Harris donor and former Assistant Governor in District 7980.
Her ultimate passion is to keep educating people about the world, its diversity and similarities across geographies and borders and contribute to better global understanding-one person at a time.
Please make every effort to join us to give our District Governor, Tari Marshall-Day, a warm New haven Rotary welcome.

Last week's meeting

Last week we had a wonderful in-person meeting at the Graduate Club with Manny James, recording artist, songwriter, composer and record label owner, as our guest speaker. Manny delivered a very inspiring talk about his passion for music and his new non-profit organization "Creative Hearts" that focuses on and cultivates the next generation of musicians. Manny was born in New Haven and grew up in a very challenging environment. He started singing at the age of 8. His experiences fueled his creativity, his drive and his love of people and helped mold him into the person he is today. He has had tremendous success with his debut album "Just Being Honest" and "Church Street South" and a recent release, "Never Let Go". In 2020, he formed his own record label, Church Street South Entertainment. He is currently working on a new album as well as writing and producing for other artists.
Creative Hearts Inc. was also founded in 2020 as a non-profit to reach young people 8-18, giving them the opportunity to find their voice and explore their own artistic talents and abilities.
Classes available include Vocal Training, Piano/Keyboarding, Videography/Photography and Music Production. For more information, go to creativeheartsinc.com.
Manny finished his presentation with a song entitled "Dear America" that was most inspiring and received a standing ovation.

Please let Dick Popilowski know if you are going to attend Tuesday's meeting so he can give a count for food. His email is [email protected] and his phone is 203-362-9820.
