Spartanburg Sings!

For the past decade, the Rotary Club of Spartanburg has hosted Spartanburg Sings, a unique opportunity in the Upstate of South Carolina that serves as an all-county middle school Honors Chorus. Spartanburg Sings is a collaboration among Districts 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7 and hosts 180-200 students for the concert, which is held at Spartanburg School District Three’s Community Auditorium.

This year because of COVID, the event was virtual. This video captures the 2021 performance.

Terry Pruitt, Chief Academic Officer for Spartanburg School District Seven and Chairman of Rotary's Spartanburg Sings, states, “Spartanburg Sings is about so much more than showcasing our wonderful middle school singers. It’s about striving for excellence, the importance of collaboration, teamwork and having a common goal. It also aligns with our Rotary Four-Way Test – it builds better friendships, and it is certainly beneficial to all concerned.”

During the past ten years, more than 1,500 students have participated in this annual event.  Spartanburg Sings provides an opportunity for our county’s exceptionally talented middle school singers to come together to sing, perform and build friendships. Spartanburg Sings is a signature event for the Rotary Club of Spartanburg and proceeds from the event support the Club's Youth Opportunity grants.
